ONE FOR THE ROAD OUR FRIENDS:

We have some news. Big news. Neu! Reekie! will be putting on just one more show in 2022—in fact, we’re hitting the pause button. This will be happening on Sunday 14th August. It’s called Neu! Reekie!’s One For The Road and will be hosted at the lush (family run) Bellfield Brewery in Edinburgh.

It’s going to be a special evening and maybe a wee bit celebratory/emotional for all of us. We really hope loads of our regulars, and the many friends we’ve made over the years, will come to this last show for the foreseeable. It will absolutely teeming with some of our favourite writers / artists / humans.

After this August extravaganza, Neu! Reekie! will be taking an extended break, going into hibernation for a while, allowing all four of us time to pursue other projects, as well as reflect on what we’ve achieved over the last 12 years.

This long-running project has changed our lives immeasurably and allowed us the privilege of meeting and getting to know so many of you, as well as working with, and championing, some of the most incredible performers, writers, artists, DJs, film-makers and musicians in the land.

Gratitude and pride don’t quite cut the mustard when it comes to expressing our thanks, but we’ll try and find the words when the night draws in.

We pay homage, and massive thanks, to our amazing audiences, some of you have been coming to Neu! Reekie! since we first showed up in January 2011.

Because of your support we’ve been able to produce hundreds of shows, birthed a micro publishing house and record label, and taken our unique events all over the world.

There’s so much more to be said on this, perhaps even in book form, but for now we send love and we hope to see you on Sunday 14th August.

This sublime event features (drum roll…): Liz Lochhead, Hollie McNish, Darren McGarvey, Salena Godden, Hannah Lavery, Tam Dean Burn, Davy Henderson, The Honey Farm, Solareye, Callum Easter & more TBA. There will also be key contributions from all our team/family: Michael Pedersen, Kevin Williamson, Kat Gollock and Davie Miller.
